How to refund a customer

Refunds may be issued through the Stripe Dashboard

Important: Once a refund has been issued through Stripe, you will not be able to reattempt processing the payment using the Supplier Portal.


  1. Sign in to Stripe
  2. Follow the steps outlined here: Refunding and canceling payments

About refunds

  • Refunds are processed immediately
  • When issued, refunds can’t be canceled
  • Refunds take  five- to-10 days to appear on a customer's statement
  • You can issue more than one refund against a charge, but you can’t refund a total greater than the original charge amount
